A rant on IM etiquette

This gets my panties in all kinds of bunches. There are some people I know that seem to love to exist in a permanent away state. So much that when they start their IM client it's set to 'away'. I can understand every now and then you need to communicate to someone and IM doesn't allow you to do that directly without broadcasting your presence, but for fuck's sake if your away all time then turn the fucking thing off!!!
I'm sorry. I'm cranky today.
